Sorry for posting so late this week -- I think I missed the 1pm kickoffs, but not by much. Problems with my server, lack of sleep, kids, ennui, whatever. Deal with it.

Sorry, guys -- I've been over the top busy this week. M&D won over Craig (pts.). I think so, anyway. I'm going to post their picture so I hope so. (I left my score sheet at work.)

The picks page and "weekly stuff" image will be updated tonight. Standings tomorrow.

Your Oberlin education is serving you well, Mick. Your writing is first rate.

How'd your roomie do this week? Sounds like a good defensive game. What a time to be an Obie football fan!

So who the hell did win this week??

I had myself quite a tasty little sports meal this weekend:

Started off with a delicious appetizer of Oberlin 18, Dennison 7 (3-2 overall, 2-0 in conference). Soon followed by a spicy pasta dish of the Yankees getting eliminated in four games. Then came the the 20 oz. steak of the Mets completing a 3-game sweep of the only other dangerous team in the NL. And for dessert, a stifling Giants D carrying them to a 19-3 division victory. If I'm dreaming, man oh man don't pinch me.

Could a week 5 victory for Mickey (tied for first after early games) be the after-dinner Brandy and cap off a delicious week?

Hey, you just never know what to expect in the postseason. Kenny the Tiger was nasty with the curveball last night. Anyway today is really the big day, with the season on the brink and all. And i can't believe it they are still going with Jaret Wright, he's a joke. Well we shall see what happens later today.

Gee, I'm sorry Dar, but no, I'm not rooting for the Big Unit. Last night was pure sweetness. The Moose couldn't hold it against the likes of Marcus Thames. Who? And A-Rod is sweetly consistent in the postseason, ain't he? One for eight so far, I think.

(Oh, to answer my question about Thames, he's a former Yankee whose first ML pitch resulted in a home run against . . . Randy Johnson!)

Tonight is the big night, Tigers vs. Yankees game 3. Randy Johnson's got to come up big, the season of the Yanks depends on him. Also how bout the Mets up 2 to nothing, I went to the first game, it was awesome. Anyway everyone pray tonight for the yanks and randy tonite, to take down them Tigers!

From the Rules Page:

9. Picks have to be in by Thursday midnight.
9a. If there is a Thursday game, at least that game has to be in by Wed. midnight
9b. Late season Saturday games won't affect this. It'll still be Thurs. midnight
9c. UNLESS YOU ARE REQUESTED TO GET THEM IN EARLY - like, say, if Mike is going away on Friday and needs to post them for everyone's benefit.

I'm all for changing this to Friday at, say, noon. The reason it's been Thursday for so long is that many of us old timers didn't have internet at home and I wanted everyone to see them and be able to print them out before heading home for the week.

(For the record, Mickey, the picks page has worked fine all year with the exception of 2 hours last week. Oh, and YOU were the numbskull who dropped Josh's ring. I was merely the brave hero who saved the day.)

Oh, fer cryin' out loud. Why am I rooting for the Mets?

Don't know why the submit picks page isn't working. Some gobbledy-gook technical stuff. I'm trying to hammer it out in my (ahem!) free time.

Actually, Todd, there were 5 of you in it -- in addition to those you mentioned, Tim&Kate had 11 wins and Craig had 10 with Jax.

In the end, it didn't matter -- your low points did it AGAIN! Lowest MNF score in history! You bastard! 2nd win in 2 weeks - unprecedented!

Looks like a three way tie that will come down to points. John S (43pts), Bob(38pts), and I (35pts) all are 11-4 going into MNF, and we all have Pittsburgh. So if the total score is 36 or Below, I win. If the total Score is 37-40, Bob wins. If the total score is 41 or more, John S wins.

Now, get them picks in by Thursday, game time. I'd love to post them all but its unlikely (I've got an opening at my gallery that night). Still, I'll know if you slipped your picks in after kickoff -- don't test me.

Guys - I'm desperately working to rebuild the "make picks" portion of the website (my crappy Canadian domain company sold my account to another crappy Canadian company and they changed all my passwords, among other crappy things). Here's the main thing to ponder: THE SEASON STARTS ON THURSDAY. Also, I'm going out of town Friday night. That means: GET YOUR PICKS IN BY THURSDAY, GAME TIME!

You might have to email me your picks. PLEASE use this email address -- mikesweney@gmail.com -- and choose in the order on the "picks page". But try sending them in too just in case I get it fixed.

Thanks!
